TVGMS Monthly Meetings

We are fortunate to be able to engage experts in a variety of Earth Science fields to give talks several times each year. Just a few examples include: a diamond expert that gave us a history and comprehensive discussion of diamond characteristics, a lecture on our local roadside geology by an expert geologist, a travelogue of the geology of the Alps, and a presentation of meteorites by one of the foremost experts in the field (and one of our own members!).

Every few months we hold a silent auction after the general meeting. The auction often contains lapidary-themed items donated by members and specimens from our club’s collection of rocks and minerals, and slabs and cabochons being processed in our workshop. The proceeds go to our general fund.

After our general meeting, light refreshments are available to snack on while you socialize with fellow members and perhaps examine finds from recent field trips.
